A family in Texas accidentally locked the child and the keys of their vehicle inside a car while the temperature reached more than 100F. Last week, a passerby captured a dramatic rescue.
The father of the child repeatedly smashes the glass in front of shocked onlookers with the wheel brace.
According to the video, a woman reached the baby by climbing through the front broken windshield.
The temperature in the vehicle would have risen quickly, as Texas had consistently seen heat indexes over 37C for the last few weeks.
The baby had been distressed, but was otherwise okay.
No charges were filed.
On the viral video, commentators called out the parents for their “insanity” and admonished them.

Diamond stated that when children are left unattended in a car, they tend to be quiet, out of view, and this can cause parents to forget what they were doing or where their child was.
Diamond stated that it’s not what is or who is in the car but a dynamic system of brain.
He said, “I do not consider this bad parenting.” He said: “I don’t consider this poor parenting. I think it is an adaptive process where we have these interlocking brain memory systems. It’s just by chance that good parents are caught up in a combination of events which leads them to forget about their kids.”
