This is the time when vandals are most likely to remove pumpkins from front porches.
They’re going too far now, using pumpkins to cause damage to parts of the home. Homeowners in Kent and Covington worry about their next move.
Teresa St. Arnauld is a Covington homeowner. She said, “I saw three big guys coming to my door, and they were tearing everything apart.”
A single mother shared a frightening video surveillance from her home with FOX13 News on Friday shortly after midnight.
St. Arnauld stated, “I get goosebumps every time I mention it.” “I don’t even know why I didn’t have a clue what to do.”
You can watch a video of a group men removing the pumpkins from her porch, and throwing them. They also rip off Halloween decorations before throwing them. St. Arnauld was hit by one of the pumpkins.
St. Arnauld stated, “I am not someone who is easily intimidated.” I was shaking. My voice was trembling when I spoke to the police. I was afraid. My daughter was upstairs. I had my daughter upstairs. “I didn’t even know whether it was an invasion of my home or not.”
St. Arnauld claimed that her dog alerted to her what was going on outside. Her camera system, along with the well-lit home she lived in up until Friday night.
St. Arnauld stated, “I was defenseless.” St. Arnauld said, “I was afraid that these people would come to my house. What will I do?”
St. Arnauld wasn’t the sole victim in this case.
On Thursday morning, a homeowner from Kent uploaded their surveillance footage of his home to social media. The video shows men wearing masks causing the same type of damage. The vandals threw pumpkins at the house and broke its front window. They also cracked the doorframe.
St. Arnauld stated, “Now it is getting more violent.” What’s happening next weekend? “What’s happening next year?”
The police were called by both homeowners, but there have not been any arrests. It is hoped that these individuals will be identified and reported so others do not have to experience this kind of fear.
The police recovered ‘Bonesy’, the huge skeleton that was stolen Friday evening from St. Arnauld. The police found him nearby. He is back at home, but with some bruises.
