In Bahia Blanca, the headquarters of Justicialista Party was vandalized with antisemitic and antidemocratic messages. A local Communist Party office (PC) also experienced a similar assault.
Bahian PJ reported the incident and recorded it in their party office at de Mayo Street 200. The party building’s façade was defaced with phrases like “Peron Puto” or “Killer Forros”. The DIB Agency was also highlighted with images of Juan Domingo Peron, Evita and other political figures.
In a social media statement, the Justicialista Party said that the violence was directed against the political space with antisemitic remarks.
He added, “We are sorry for this aggression. We believe that it’s important to emphasize that this vandalism isn’t a one-off act. It is part of an ongoing series of acts of political violence in our city.”
The local PJ stated that such expressions are part of a global escalation in hate speech, for which Bahia Blanca has unfortunately been positioned.
They explained: “We are an organization that is committed to democratic coexistence, a form of exercise in politics that has been the foundation for our country’s existence over 40 years.” They added, “We categorically affirm that violence has no place within these parameters.”
They also said that they would continue to “work with the firm goal of building a democratic, peaceful society free from violence, with strong institutions”, and they called for an afternoon painting session in order to repair the façade.
Local Radical Civic Unions (UCR) condemned the attacks on the PJ’s premises. Situations like this remind us of intolerance, violence and the pain that was caused by a past we would never return to. In a press release, he stated that “we understand that the growth of a community is based upon dialogue and exchanges of ideas.”
They made themselves readily available for quick justice. They added, “Evidently the people responsible haven’t understood what the 40-year consolidation of democracy in this country has meant.”
This fact has also been refuted by the General Confederation of Labor of Bahia Blanca (CGT), where they warn that “political violent, grievances, and lack of respect never resolved anything for us”.
In recent years, this isn’t the first attack on a Peronist Bahia member. In May 2021, an explosive device damaged part of La Campora’s headquarters.
The local Communist Party headquarters (located in Roca 84), was trivialized as well with graffiti like “putos”, “Milei 2020” and more.
The left-wing group issued a press release in which it attributed the attack to the “organization that supports the presidential candidacy” of Javier Milei of La Libertad Avanza and said that these attacks were part of a series of attacks that had been reported across the country.
PC says that fascism is “a threat that will be met by us as we work for unity to confront and demolish any attempts to return to the moments that our people have already lived” and urges voters to support Union por la Patria at the next election.
