Mazatlan (Sin.)- The water has been cut off in certain areas of Mazatlan due to the rains. It is also turbid. This problem, along with the lack of drinking liquid, have caused concern among the residents of Mazatlan.
Jorge Gonzalez Naranjo is the general manager of Jumapam, Mazatlan’s Municipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage. He explained that whenever there has been rain, water comes out of dams cloudier than usual.
This means the treatment plants have to operate at triple speed and activate different protocols to ensure the drinking of vital liquid. When the turbidity increases, we stop the flow. As the water and tanks settle, we start to add more input.
